The Man With The Golden Bum...

Who was your favourite James Bond?  For me it is probably Sean Connery.  He is just such a cool man.  He has something that some of the newer Bond films with Dalton, Brosnan and Craig lack.  Can any of you do an impression of him?  I enjoyed his performance in the third Indiana Jones movie and his role in "The Rock" with Nicolas Cage.  Something I have noticed recently is that despite the extravagant budgets film-makers have these days, you can't beat a good storyline which is what many of the older films have.  Take for example the Star Wars movies (now I'm not a nerd)  but the older ones do have a better plot than the limp recent ones.  That is just my opinion though.  I know special effects can make a good film.  This progression and change is also seen in the music industry.  For example, these days the charts are mainly dominated by R and B, hip hop, pop etc.  There is nothing wrong with this, much of it is good in fact.  However when your in a nostalgic mood and listen back to classic music like The Beatles, you can see their influence in many of the modern bands today.  Now men, come on, there is only one reason you buy Cheryl Cole's music though ;)  The sexualisation of this industry has meant that most of the leading chart performers are attractive.  Their ability obviously comes into it too of course, but Cheryl Cole's vocals are debatable.  Producers and directors believe that sex sells and so that it what they supply through films, books or even lyrics in music (eg akon's "I just had sex" song).  So perhaps the man with the golden gun for example has been shunned into the history books.  Instead films feature skimpily dressed woman.  American Pie is one of many examples.  I should congratulate Arsenal for yesterdays victory over Barcelona.  However they have yet to travel to the Nou Camp where I bet Barca will be on form.  This post is quite long, so I will bugger off now.

With kind regards,
